Extended Size Capability and How Size Bands Are Defined
There is no universal plus-size compression sock sizing standard. Wide Calf, 2XL or 6XL do not correspond to one fixed calf measurement — they mean different things in different markets, so we do not publish a label-to-measurement chart. Size bands are developed around your target measurements and market. What follows is what we can produce.
| Measurement | Production Range |
|---|---|
| Calf circumference — wide-calf programs | 40–53 cm / 16–21" |
| Calf circumference — extra-wide programs | Up to 71 cm / 28" |
| Ankle circumference | Up to 38 cm |
| Foot length | Defined to your target size run |
| Leg height | Petite / regular / tall |
| Compression | 15–20 / 20–30 / 30–40 mmHg, available across the full calf range |
| Size naming | Your own system, or 2XL–6XL |
Larger specifications can be evaluated on request. Size band names are defined together with you — see our Size Chart Development service ↓
We Don't Just Offer Plus Sizes—We Build Your Size System
The biggest hidden cost in plus size compression is sizing chaos: no universal standard, every brand's chart different, returns driven by mis-fits. We define the size architecture with you before we knit a single pair.
What we define together:
- Foot length ranges
- Ankle circumference
- Calf circumference bands
- Calf height (knee-high length: petite / regular / tall)
- Thigh circumference (for thigh-high styles)
- US / EU / UK size chart adaptation
- Size naming aligned to your market (2XL–6XL or your own system)
- Packaging size guide & product insert artwork support

Why Plus Size Compression Can't Just Be "Bigger"
Most oversized compression socks fail in one of two ways: the gradient collapses, or the top band digs in. Our extended sizes are engineered, not stretched.
Size-Matched Knitting
Each circumference band runs on the correct cylinder needle count with high-recovery elastane plating; pre-production samples are confirmed before bulk.
In-House Pressure Testing
Compression is verified in-house on our Swisslastic MST MK V. During development, representative or boundary sizes are checked against the target pressure profile; production testing scope is defined according to the approved specification, size range and buyer requirements.
Measurement-Led Grading
Calf, ankle, foot length and leg height are graded around the target wearer rather than scaled by one rule. A sock that only widens at the calf fails at the instep — and a sock that scales everything together leaves the footbed too large.
Wide Comfort-Top Cuff, No Dig-In
Widened rib cuff distributes top-band pressure; stay-up via anti-slip yarn (silicone band reserved as medical-grade option).
Engineered to Your Exact Specifications
From precise compression gradients to custom Pantone dyeing, every detail of our plus-size range is fully customizable for your brand.
Custom Colors
Pantone-matched dyeing; plus sizes run the full pattern range, same as standard sizes.
Custom Logos
Knitted-in or printed logo placement engineered not to distort on wide calves.
Material Selection
Softer hand feel: combed cotton or bamboo. Higher abrasion resistance and faster drying: nylon-led blends and wicking polyester. Temperature regulation: merino. Antimicrobial finishes optional. Compare the full yarn range →
Compression Level
15–20 / 20–30 / 30–40 mmHg, available across the full size range.
Custom Packaging
Retail-ready boxes, blister packs, and fully custom size-guide inserts.
Stay-Up System
Wide rib cuff standard; anti-slip yarn or medical silicone band options available.
Quality Control Built Around Pressure Accuracy
In extended sizes, the real risk is that a larger sock stops behaving like the approved sample. Our four-stage QC is built around carrying the approved specification from sample into bulk.
Yarn & Material Inspection
Every elastane and yarn batch is inspected on arrival for elasticity and recovery consistency—the foundation of stable compression at larger circumferences.
In-Line Knitting Checks
During production, flat-width and circumference are checked against each size band's spec sheet, so a 3XL is knitted as a 3XL—not labeled as one.
In-House Pressure Testing
Swisslastic MST MK V — medical-grade compression testing in-house
Compression is verified against the approved specification to confirm the graduated profile holds from ankle to calf. Testing scope and reporting are defined according to the specification, size range and buyer requirements.
Final AQL 2.5 Inspection
Pre-shipment random inspection to AQL 2.5 covers sizing, stitching, cuff integrity and packaging before your order leaves the factory.

FAQ: Plus Size Compression Socks Manufacturing
What is the MOQ for plus size compression socks?
MOQ is 500 pairs per color, per size. MOQ follows the product, not the sales channel, so it does not change by marketplace or distribution model.
What is the largest size you can produce?
Up to 71 cm / 28″ calf circumference, with ankle to 38 cm and foot length graded to the target size run. Larger specifications can be evaluated on request.
What calf size counts as "wide calf"?
The industry has no single standard: some brands start wide calf at 16″ (40cm), others at 18″ (46cm). That’s why we spec by measured circumference rather than by label. Our wide-calf programs are typically developed in the 40–53 cm / 16–21″ range; larger measurements are handled as extra-wide programs to 71 cm / 28″.
Do plus size compression socks deliver the same graduated pressure?
The graduated profile is designed for each size band rather than extrapolated from a single reference size. During development, representative or boundary sizes are verified in-house on our Swisslastic MST MK V, and the production testing scope is agreed with your specification.
Can you match our existing size chart?
Yes. We adapt to your current chart or develop a new one for your market, including US/EU conversion and length options (see Size Chart Development ↑).
Silicone band or anti-slip yarn—which stay-up should I choose?
Anti-slip yarn suits everyday and athletic lines (no skin-contact band); silicone bands are recommended for medical-grade thigh-high or sensitive-fit programs.
Can I get samples before ordering?
Custom samples are quoted per design, with lead time set by the approved specification. The sample fee for the version you approve is credited back against your bulk order; if the design is revised, the credit applies to the final approved version.
What certifications do you hold?
FDA establishment registration and device listing, ISO 13485:2016, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and BSCI. All documents are available for download on our certifications page.
